Excellent mom and pop stop. Their flower gardens are fantastic and right next a very good bar and restaurant. Location next to Hwy 2 having to listen to semi's through the night, but just turn on air conditioners.
My husband and I have stayed here for our annual U.P trip for the past three years. Rooms are always very nice and CLEAN! The owners are amazing and remember us every time we stay here. Highly recommend!!! Very budget friendly as well. We usually stay in a room with a king bed. Very spacious and very nice!
This motel has everything! The outside has such appeal. It’s gorgeous and the owners must spend so much time keeping the gardens in such great shape. It has to be a labor of love. Affordable and so clean and updated! I would highly recommend a stay here! Would definitely return!
Very nice place to stay. We had a room with a queen-size bed and it was perfect for 2. Very clean and well updated. The bed was VERY comfortable. The grounds were gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to borrow folding chairs to take with us to the beach. We will be back if we travel to the area again.
Just stayed at Sunset and the rooms were immaculate. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Owners deserve 10 stars for hospitality! Definitely will be staying again on our next visit to the UP!
Front desk person seemed rushed. But otherwise was very very clean inside. The bedding,..ELITE! No crusty stiff bedding, it was so nice! And the bar/restaurant next door is easy a 5 star place to eat! I know people mentioned the traffic going by on the freeway, but I Didn’t think it was that obnoxious personally. We slept like babies
It was a nice little motel. Exactly what I needed. Comfortable bed, good size TV, and a clean shower with hot water. I've had a lot of bad luck in the Mackinaw City/ St. Ignace area with hotels. Glad I finally found a place I can stay at!
Stayed a week in July 2025. First time stay and it exceeded my expectations. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Would not hesitate to stay again when traveling through. Grounds are so nice with all the hanging plants.
Very helpful staff on our questions of the area. A clean, quaint place to stay. Beds were very comfortable. They have a lot of beautiful potted flowers around the grounds and also a beautiful landscape of flowers. Close to places to eat and the drive to attractions. Would definitely stay there again!
